The CTFPHC develops and disseminates evidence-based clinical practice guidelines on primary and secondary preventive interventions. The aim of the guidelines (i.e. recommendations) is to improve the quality of care for patients across Canada. They are based on the latest evidence and take into account other important elements, such as patient preferences and values.
In order to improve the quality of the recommendations, the CTFPHC incorporates the views of those who may be affected by the guideline (i.e. stakeholders) by inviting them to review the guideline review and supporting documents.
The CTFPHC is currently developing a “Recommendation for Screening on Asymptomatic Bacteriuria in pregnancy” and would like to invite your organization to review the DRAFT guideline.
If your organization is interested in participating, we ask that you kindly appoint a reviewer that will participate in the process. The assigned reviewer will need to sign and return the 2 forms attached (confidentiality agreement and the disclosure of conflict of interest). Once the paperwork is signed, we will provide the reviewers with a confidential copy of the DRAFT guideline. Reviewers will have 2 weeks to provide their comments (planned dates of review: from August 7 to August 20, 2017 approximately).
Once all reviews have been received, comments will be considered by the CTFPHC. A written response to feedback will be prepared as a summary document and revisions to the protocol will be made as appropriate. Reviewers may expect to receive a copy of CTFPHC responses to feedback and proposed changes between October and November 2017.
We look forward to collaborating with you and your organization. If you have any questions about the process, please feel free to contact me via e-mail at: Ernesto.email@example.com
On behalf of the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care I thank you in advance for your valuable participation that undoubtedly will help improve the quality of the guidelines that are being developed.
